SHARP LCD TV

There had been several 'debates' over the purchase of our TV too. One for sure was I wanted a white or silver colour 37" TV to match our white TV Feature wall. However, it seems impossible to find one of that colour. Most white TVs are either 32" or smaller. Argggggggg. This, I know SN spent a great deal of time trying to convince me. I surrender. He has given in to many of my preferences and I have to do my bit too. hahaha.
We checked the prices at almost all of the mega malls (Harvey Norman, Gain City, Best Denki and Courts). Even the road shows for Audio House were not spared. Seems like Rigin Electronics whom SN's company colleagues recommended, gave the best price. We paid $999 for the 37" TV and $710 for the 32" TV which also includes the wall mount brackets, delivery and installation cost. I believed this is quite a good buy for a SHARP HD Ready TV!!??!!

ZONE – offering a glimpse of the future...for our Boutique Design

Seems like I can never get enough of Zone. Have made 3 purchases from there since the start of our Reno. Thou their prices can come on as steep, but their products are simply...candy to my eyes. If it's not for the 15% discounts, I probably would have delay those purchases.

The first purchase was a round WHITE door stopper.

The second purchase was a GREEN flower pot, which we intend to place it on top of our toilet bowl in the common bathroom. As the material is made out of silicone, we thought it will be a better bet then putting a porcelain pot on top of the toilet bowl...just in case it slips and breaks.
Today, we bought a ceramic soap dispenser in RED silicone. I thought it will sit perfect in our red kitchen. Although, SN could not understand the purpose of this, he did not stop me from getting it either. Thank you SN and sorry dear :(
About Zone: Throughout several years, ZONE has presented a number of well-designed products for the home. Since the beginning back in the 90s, ZONE has had great ambitions about offering the consumer a good experience through a good product. Today, the ZONE brand is a household name, which has resulted in new ambitious goals for the company as a whole. Therefore, ZONE Denmark took steps in 2007 to lift the brand further, resulting in a new portfolio strategy and business model that are to ensure that the consumer is given an additional experience naturally connected to ZONE's new tagline – ”Design for everyday”. ZONE is primarily aimed at women in the target group 23-35 years that are passionate about their families and signal reserves of energy through job, charisma and home. But throughout the years, products have also found their way to many homes outside the target group, which explains the broad success in the domestic market. ZONE Denmark is represented in 35 countries and has 28 concept shops spread over most of the world – for example in Sweden, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Dubai and Singapore (Raffles City & Great World City). They offer 900 different ZONE design products that make everyday life a bit more modern and still very simple.

After All The Hoo-Ha...

Call me a cheap skate! Even thou I am not one who will resort to wearing fakes but I find it extremely hard to part with (approximately) S$2800 for a real Caboche Lamp. A couple of Lighting Shops in Singapore are carrying the replica of the original Caboche Lamp. Lush is one...selling at approximately S$800-S$1200. Light Crafts is the other which I aimed to get it from at S$463.85. When I made a trip down last week to get the lamp, I was told by Light Crafts that they have sold-out the lights and the next shipment will only be in a month or two. When I have my eyes set on something, it's really hard to change that decision or choice.

As today was my first day of work in 2009, I did not finish work till about 8pm. Since SN has class to attend, I decided to swing by to Balestier to recee the lights. The objectives was #1 - to find the 'Caboche' Lamp in another light shop and #2 - to find the next best alternative. I clocked no luck at Lights Vault, so I decided to cross over the road to recee Palace Lights. Guess what? I found the 'Caboche' Lamp selling at a even cheaper price...$280 to be exact. Wala! The rest of the evening, I was basking in joy. A joy of finally getting one at such a ahem...low price. SN gave me a thumbs-up for the savings of course. wahaha. You reckon we can get away with this replica amongst our original Kartell collections? :p

Below are some facts on the Original Caboche for those who are interested to know more.

Product Information: Suspension lamp composed by transparent globes made of polymethylmetacrylate. A shade in white matte finish glass offers direct upward and downward light projection and diffusion throughout the space.

Dimensions: 19.75" D X 7.8" H 78.75" maximum overall height, can be field cut.
Uses 1 X 150W 120V T3 RSC (118mm) linear halogen lamp

Goodbye Gas Heater, Welcome Storage Heater!

As carbon neutral is the way to go these days, we had settled for a CityGas Water Heater in July last year. Hold-and-behold, logistic caused us a bit of problem as the Gas Heater needs to be installed in area that is non-concealed and near an open window preferably. Thus, explains the change of our plan to purchase a 25-litre storage Heater subsequently from Poo Joo Jalan Besar at $225. We had Ariston in mind for a storage Heater initially but we changed our mind after reading this thread from the forum.
