Wallpaper

From Goodrich to Europa, we finally found a supplier who is slightly cheaper then the two. Shop is located at Joo Chiat Complex, a place I never knew about until our Reno journey began. We have (mentally) selected a dark baroque looking wallpaper under the GLAMOUR range but plans changed along the way when we discovered that it might possibly clash with our black floral TV feature, located just opposite the wall we intended to have the wallpaper on. Sigh... :( I really loved the GLAMOUR wallpaper range. If it's of any consolation (to myself), I think GLAMOUR range has been over-used in many ways. From pictures in the Reno Magazines to small fashion boutiques in shopping mall...they are everywhere.

After browsing thru dozens of those wallpaper samples, here's what we have selected. Something safe, classic and simple. Hope the effect will be nice. Sigh...that's what happen when you do not have an Interior Decorator to advice you.

The Wardrobe

Do you know...Typically in the middle class Indian homes, clothes are stored by folding and stacking them on top of the other. This saves space when compared to hangings but then retrieval and putting things back is difficult. A wardrobe (sometimes called an "armoire") is a standing closet used for storing clothes. Since it's every girl's dream to have their own walk-in-wardrobe, I am taking the challenge to have our wardrobe without doors. Nonetheless, we have informed our carpenter to factor in the space...just in case, we decided to have a wardrobe door in future. Now, I have to take it in my strive to keep things organise...well, at least when we are expecting visitors. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrh, thought I hear mum whining about my doorless wardrobe again. :(

Some Development as of 8 Feb 2009

Are we really too easy going or are we just too patience? Seems like our renovation is taking forever. In any case, we have informed Patrick that we need the whole renovation to be completed by end of this month...latest! Wished I could have more pictures to share but...
